Hong Kong, China, April 14, 2020: The Sports Federation and Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China noted that, under the Government’s second round of Anti-Epidemic Fund, the Government shall grant a one-off subsidy of HK$7,500 (970 USD) for every sports coach being affected by the epidemic.

This includes all sports coaches engaged by or registered under National Sports Associations and Sports Organisations.

The SF&OC has subsequently received responses and concerns from NSAs regarding the level of relief to the sports sector.

In view of this, the SF&OC’s Anti-Epidemic Fund Taskforce, which was set up earlier, will meet with the HKSAR Government and reflect our three major concerns on:

1) the possibility of increasing the amount of grant;

2) simplifying the application and verification procedures; and

3) releasing the grant to the beneficiaries as soon as practicable.

“The SF&OC will continue our discussion with the HKSAR Government to work out the long-term measures in supporting the sports community in this difficult period,” the NOC of Hong Kong, China said in a statement issued April 9.
