Pakistan captured their maiden title at the Asian Men’s U16 Volleyball Championship with an epic comeback victory over defending champions Iran.

Unbeaten throughout the tournament, Pakistan displayed nerves of steel and determination after falling two sets behind, turning the tide to clinch a dramatic 3-2 victory – 22-25, 21-25, 30-28, 25-21, 15-10.

The POA, in a letter signed by President Arif Saeed and Secretary General Muhammad Khalid Mahmood and addressed to the leadership at the Pakistan Volleyball Federation, extended its “warmest congratulations to the outstanding young athletes” on their historic triumph.

“These remarkable young players have brought immense pride to the nation through their skill, determination and unwavering spirit. Their victory reflects a level of maturity, composure and passion that far exceeds their years. They have emerged not only as champions but as shining symbols of Pakistan’s sporting future.

“We are also pleased to share that, on the recommendation of the Pakistan Olympic Association, Olympic Solidarity has once again approved the Team Support Grant for the sport of volleyball. This grant, approved through to Los Angeles 2028, provides a meaningful boost to the athlete pathway, strengthening the foundation of our young volleyball players as they work towards future international success and set their sights on the Olympic stage,” the POA stated.
