Jerusalem, Palestine, July 16, 2025: The Palestinian Volleyball Federation is organising an international coaches’ course from July 15-19 in cooperation with Olympic Solidarity and the Palestine Olympic Committee.
The level one course opened on Tuesday and is being hosted by the Police College and Al-Istiqlal University in Jericho and the Jordan Valley Governorate.
The course is being attended by 33 male and female coaches from various northern governorates and is part of the federation's efforts to train local and international coaches in active clubs.
International lecturer and trainer Rani Asfour is the course instructor, while the activity is being managed by Marouf Shatara, a member of the federation's board of directors and chairman of the National Teams Committee.
Asfour pointed out that the course covers the basic concepts of training and the international laws of the game, which qualifies coaches to perform their duties properly and helps them develop promising players.
Asfour emphasized the importance of this course, which is part of the federation's plan to focus on younger age groups and expand the base of mini-volleyball. This will in turn provide a pathway to the federation and to clubs, thereby ensuring the game’s sustainability.
Hamza Radhi, President of the Palestinian Volleyball Federation, praised the role of the Palestine Olympic Committee in supporting this course and overcoming obstacles to its success. He also thanked the Palestinian Police and Al-Istiqlal University for hosting the course and providing the federation with the necessary facilities.
