Tashkent, Uzbekistan, July 14, 2025: A board meeting of the Ministry of Sports was held last week to review the results of the first half of the year and to look ahead and prioritise plans.
The meeting was attended by Odil Abdurakhmanov, Director of the Department of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Sports Minister Adkham Ikramov, the leadership of the National Olympic and Paralympic Committees including NOC Secretary General Oybek Kasimov, and officials from sports federations and associations.
First Deputy Chairman of the Uzbekistan NOC, Otabek Umarov, spoke about the priority tasks of comprehensively organising preparations of Uzbek athletes for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics.
Sherzod Tashmatov, NOC Deputy Chairman, provided information on the results of the regional stage of the "Olympic Peaks of New Uzbekistan" sports competitions.
The preparations of national teams for prestigious international competitions to be held in 2025 was also among the other issues on the agenda.
