Thimphu, Bhutan, July 14, 2025: His Royal Highness Prince Jigyel Ugyen Wangchuck was unanimously re-elected President of the Bhutan Olympic Committee for the term 2025–2029 during the General Assembly at the BOC HQ in Thimphu on Thursday, July 10.
“The unanimous decision reflects not only the confidence of the sporting community but also the deep respect for a leader who has devoted himself to the growth of Bhutanese sport with humility, clarity of purpose and unwavering commitment,” the BOC said.
“His Royal Highness has guided the Bhutan Olympic Committee with integrity and vision, placing the development of athletes, promotion of Olympic values and empowerment of youth at the heart of the Committee’s mission. Under his leadership, the BOC has evolved into a vibrant and inclusive institution, inspiring a generation and strengthening Bhutan’s presence on the global sporting stage.”
The BOC said that the re-election of His Royal Highness ushered in a renewed chapter of progress, grounded in Bhutanese values and guided by the global principles of Olympism: excellence, friendship and respect.
