Madrid, Spain, July 14, 2025: Korea’s Kang Chae-young shot a golden double in the fourth and final stage of the 2025 Hyundai Archery World Cup in Madrid on Sunday.

Kang, 29, first won gold in the women’s recurve team final along with An San and Lim Si-hyeon before clinching the women’s individual title by defeating 17-year-old Hsu Hsin-tzu of Chinese Taipei 6-5 in a pulsating shoot-off.

Both archers' arrows in the sudden death format were on the periphery of the 10-ring. As the anticipation built, Kim’s result was confirmed after a close look and measure by the judge.

Li Jiaman of China secured the bronze medal in the women’s individual by beating Germany's Michelle Kroppen 6-2.

In the women’s team event, China’s silver medal-winning trio was comprised of Li Jiaman, Zhu Jingyi and Bao Jingyi.

In the final, Korea claimed the opening set 57-56 for two points. The two teams then split the next two sets, tying 57-57 and 56-56, to gain one point each in each set to leave the score at Korea 4 China 2 after three sets.

In a tightly contested fourth set where no archer from either side scored below a 9, a single extra 10 gave Korea the edge at 56-55, sealing the set and the match 6-2.
