Beirut, Lebanon, July 11, 2025: Lebanon is proud to be part of the Olympic Council of Asia’s ‘Asian Games for All’ campaign stated President of the Lebanese Olympic Committee Dr. Boutros Jalkh on Friday, July 11.
Lebanon is the latest stop for the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games promotional campaign, and on the eve of the Fun Run, President Jalkh underlined the importance of his National Olympic Committee’s involvement in the build-up to next September’s showpiece in Japan.
“We consider the success of any Asian country in organising a major sporting event – in this case the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games in Japan – to be a success for Lebanon,” said Jalkh, speaking at the Asian Games Fun Run press conference.
“We are proud of our continent, which has implemented many Asian and Olympic multi-sports events. We consider our participation in any event in the build-up to the Asian Games to be a factor in the success of the Games and a source of pride for us to participate,” he added.
Lebanon is the sixth leg in the promotional OCA ‘Asian Games for All’ campaign for Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games. The Fun Run to be held in the capital Beirut follows stops in Bhutan, Tajikistan, Brunei, Uzbekistan and Mongolia.
The local media gathered at the Lebanese Olympic Committee headquarters listened to speeches from the LOC Pesident, as well as from OCA Executive Board Honorary Member General Souhail Khoury.
NOC President Jalkh emphasised the importance of connecting off the sports field saying: “While it is important for our athletes to compete with the best in Asia and attempt to win medals, it is also important that administrators mingle with the OCA and Games’ organisers so as to gain administrative and technical experience so as to expand cooperation.
“Our participation in this Asian Games for All campaign is our way of showing support for the Asian family and expanding relations and building trust with everyone,” Jalkh added.
There are three elements to the Asian Games promotional campaign – a Fun Run, Asian Youth Reporter and an Art Competition for young children. The Lebanese Olympic Committee is participating in all three.
Meanwhile the top four – two boys and two girls – winners of the art competition will be announced on Saturday after the Fun Run is completed.
The 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya will be held from September 19 to October 4, 2026, with 15,000 athletes and officials from the OCA’s 45 NOCs taking part.
