Dhaka, Bangladesh, July 9, 2025: The Bangladesh Olympic Association celebrated International Olympic Day 2025 with a mass rally in the capital Dhaka on June 24.
Keeping to the International Olympic Committee’s theme of "Let’s Move", athletes, youth, officials and sports lovers gathered for an early morning rally which began at the Bangladesh Shishu Academy and ended at the National Stadium.
“This day promotes sport, health and unity and embraces Olympic values of excellence, friendship and respect,” the BOA posted on social media.
“Let this day inspire us to move more, dream bigger and work together for a healthier, stronger Bangladesh.”
Olympic Day festivities had begun a day earlier with BOA officials holding a special ceremony at the NOC Headquarters, where Kirsty Coventry's ascension to IOC President was celebrated.
A commemorative cake was cut in her honour at the ceremony which was graced by BOA Secretary General Syed Shahed Reza, Deputy Secretary General Ashiqur Rahman Miku, Treasurer Abhijit Sarker and members of the Executive Committee.
