Philippines mourns loss of football executive Lovely Tababa, 45

Manila, Philippines, July 8, 2025: The Philippine sports community is in mourning following the passing of football executive Lovely Tababa, who died on Monday, July 7. She was 45.

In a Facebook post, the Philippine Sports Commission said: “The entire sports community is in deep sorrow as we lost a leader who dedicatedly spent her life in advocating football as an instrument for mobilizing the community and inspiring the youth.”

Lovely served as Luzon's Executive member for the Philippine Football Federation (PFF), Head of the PFF Competitions Committee and as the Women's Committee Representative for the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).

The PFF added: “PFF mourns the passing of Ms. Lovely Tababa, a beloved PFF Executive Committee member whose unwavering dedication profoundly shaped Philippine football.”

Alab Football Club posted: “With heavy hearts, the entire Alab FC family mourns the passing of a truly remarkable individual who meant so much to our community. We are deeply saddened by the loss of Lovely Tababa, one of our beloved parents, a past General Secretary of the Laguna Football Association and a dedicated member of the Executive Committee of the Philippine Football Federation (PFF).

“We will truly miss her vibrant spirit, her unwavering passion for football and her lively soul that touched so many lives within and beyond our club. Her immense contributions to the sport and her dedication to its growth will forever be remembered.”
