Taipei, July 4, 2025: The Chinese Taipei Olympic Committee held the 3rd Kids Games in Taoyuan on June 28–29, 2025.
More than 2,000 children joined the event, including over 600 aged 3 to 6 who participated in the festive opening ceremony alongside their families.
The event featured creative sports challenge zones and hands-on experiences, offering a joyful weekend filled with laughter, teamwork and physical activity.
This year’s edition saw a major upgrade with “12+1” sports activities and competitions. The five core events were badminton, taekwondo, mini soccer, gymnastics and track and field, while seven themed experience zones introduced children to weightlifting, kendo, martial arts, baseball, archery, boxing and golf.
To further enrich the experience, the venue also featured interactive zones such as VR cycling, a fencing area for kids and an Olympic-themed doodle wall for artistic expression.
The opening ceremony was presided over by CTOC President Lin Hong-Dow, and joined by honored guests including the Deputy Director General of the Sports Administration, Fang Jui-Wen, Chinese Taipei General Sports Federation President Yeh Cheng-Yen and CTOC Vice President Tsai Chia-Fu.
Tokyo Olympic swimming athlete Huang Mei-Chien was also present to promote the concept of preventing competition manipulation, as an IOC PMC Ambassador. Together, they ignited the flame to mark the beginning of the Games.
Several well-known athletes were also present to interact with the young participants, including badminton star players Lin Jun-Yi and Chiu Hsiang-Chieh, Olympic taekwondo bronze medalist Lo Chia-Ling and professional basketball player Wu Yong-Sheng.
Their presence brought energy and inspiration to the event, creating memorable moments for all attendees.
The CTOC hopes this Olympic Day-themed event will spark a love for sports among children, encourage healthy development and nurture future Olympians - perhaps even the next gold medalist!
