Vietnam NOC concludes Olympic Day activities around the country

Hanoi, Vietnam, July 4, 2025: The Vietnam Olympic Committee has concluded a series of events marking International Olympic Day 2025 around the country.

The activities brought together thousands of people from all walks of society to play games, run, swim and join drowning prevention courses. The events were held in schools, clubs, districts and cities to share the joy of Olympic Day and celebrate the “Let’s Move” theme.

The first event was Children's Olympic Day in Dien Bien Phu City, held at the end of May. It drew over 1,000 primary and secondary school students who participated in a variety of activities. Attendees engaged in a fun run, explored Olympic history and enjoyed both traditional and modern games. The event successfully fostered a passion for sports and highlighted the importance of physical fitness among young participants.

Speaking about the event, Mr. Tran Van Manh, Secretary General of the Vietnam Olympic Committee, said: “The Children's Olympic Day is a meaningful community sports activity, contributing to raising awareness among young people about the role of physical training, improving health and development. This is an important foundation for building a dynamic and creative young generation, contributing to the cause of sustainable development. The program is also an opportunity to continue to select many talents for sports.”

Together with Children’s Olympic Day, over a span of months and at various locations nationwide such as Lam Dong, Binh Thuan, Dak Nong, Ninh Binh and Quang Nam provinces, the Olympic Day series engaged nearly 4,000 participants. These impressive figures highlight the increasing community commitment to preventing school drowning incidents and promoting sports development locally.

“The 2025 Olympic Day event series has concluded, leaving behind a tapestry of memorable experiences and positive emotions, particularly among the youth. These gatherings transcended mere sports activities, embodying a powerful message about fostering a healthy, united and sustainable society,” the Vietnam Olympic Committee said.
