Montreal, Canada, April 13, 2020: The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) digital and social media campaign on Play Safe on Play True Day has garnered more than 30 million participants across Asia and the world.

Play True Day, which fell on April 9, was adapted this year to include Play Safe due to the coronavirus pandemic, which has largely resulted in lockdowns in many countries across the globe.

But this hasn’t prevented athletes, sporting organisations and anti-doping bodies, including the five Asian regional organisations – Central Asia RADO, Gulf States and Yemen RADO, South Asia RADO, South East Asia RADO and West Asia RADO – from joining the online campaign to raise awareness about the importance of protecting clean sport.

WADA tweeted on April 9 that the #PlayTrueDay campaign had reached 30 million people worldwide.

“Let’s keep the momentum going and share #CleanSport message with as many people as we can around the world!”, WADA said in a tweet.

WADA called for people and sporting organisations to mark Play True Day by sharing what they are doing by posting videos and messages on social media.

Everyone from alpine skiers to swimmers, International Hockey Federation to World Rugby, got into the spirit of things by sharing posts on Facebook, Instagram and other social media platforms.
