New Delhi, India, July 3, 2025: A high-level Indian sports delegation, led by Gujarat Sports Minister Harsh Sanghvi and Indian Olympic Association President PT Usha, has held a series of meetings in Lausanne.
The delegation engaged in several productive discussions with key global sports bodies and stakeholders.
Among the highlights was a meeting with the Chairman of SportAccord, a prominent international sports event organisation, where the Indian side extended a formal invitation to host the prestigious SportAccord Conference in Gujarat.
IOA President Usha posted on Instagram: “Had a constructive meeting with the President of SportAccord and President of World Archery. Discussed strengthening global partnerships and advancing India’s sporting aspirations. Grateful for their continued support and collaboration.”
The Indian delegation also met with the leadership of ANOC, discussing the possibility of hosting ANOC events in Gujarat and other Indian states.
Talks with the International Volleyball Federation, including its President, were also held.
These engagements mark a significant step towards positioning India with a focus on Gujarat as a hub for global sporting events, reflecting the country’s growing ambition and readiness to play a larger role on the international sports stage, reported ANI news agency.
