Thimphu, Bhutan, July 2, 2025: The Bhutan Olympic Committee, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Skills Development, launched the Summer Immersion Programme 2025 on Tuesday, July 1.

The programme was conducted under the auspices of Olympic Solidarity.

The dynamic 11-day learning experience is designed to empower young minds through immersive hands-on exposure to the world of sports media, communications and event management.

A total of 12 students, carefully selected from four pilot schools, walked into this experience not just as learners but as future leaders.

The programme is divided into three segments: skills development, federation field immersion, and reflection and school project design where students will have to pitch their own school-based sports initiative to the Bhutan Olympic Committee.

“We’re not just teaching these kids how to write or design, we’re showing them that their voice matters," said programme official Victor Gurung.

"For many of them, this is the first time they are being told ‘Your story is worth telling’. That changes something deep inside.

"It’s not just about the media, it’s about believing they can lead, create and leave a mark on Bhutanese sport."

Students were selected based on their prior interest in volunteering at press conferences and media activities.
