Jakarta, Indonesia, June 30, 2025: The Indonesian Olympic Committee plans to hold an extraordinary members’ meeting on July 15, 2025 to discuss a proposal to accept five new national sports associations.
Currently, NOC Indonesia has received new membership applications from five sports organizations: table tennis, boxing, flying saucer, tug of war and camel racing.
"This step is part of the Indonesian NOC's commitment to ensure that every sport that will participate in a multi-sport event has official membership in the national sports structure," said Jadi Rajagukguk, Executive Committee member of the Indonesian Olympic Committee.
"Especially for table tennis and boxing, the urgency is very high to be included in the upcoming 2025 SEA Games. Therefore, it is important for the NOC to ensure the legality and readiness of athletes from officially recognized organizations," Jadi emphasized.
Furthermore, NOC Indonesia also opens up space for sports that are currently still in the international introduction stage, such as Flying Saucer and Tug of War which will appear as demonstration sports at the upcoming 2025 SEA Games in Thailand in December.
Meanwhile, camel racing will be a sport competed in the 2025 Asian Youth Games in Bahrain this October and Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh in November.
