Manila, Philippines, June 23, 2025: The Philippine Olympic Committee proudly joined the Olympic Day global celebration on Monday, marking a momentous day for Philippine sports.

POC President Abraham "Bambol" Tolentino led key initiatives, including the vital Memorandum of Association (MOA) signing for the Paralympics and recognizing future talent by awarding Olympics Solidarity Scholarships.

A historic highlight was the inauguration of the Velodrome in Tagaytay City. This state-of-the-art facility is the country's first indoor track cycling venue of International Cycling Union (UCI) standard, set to be a premier sports hub.

The event was graced by esteemed figures such as two-time Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo, silver and bronze Olympic medalist Nesthy Petecio and Asian Cycling Confederation President Dato' Amarjit Singh Gill, along with dedicated National Sports Association officers, athletes and local officials.

“Today truly embodied the Olympic spirit, celebrating past achievements and future aspirations for Philippine sports,” the POC said.
