Mongolia produces youngest winner of Asian Games for All art competition

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, June 23, 2025: Avidkhuu Aminjargal is only five years old. He made a mark for himself when he became the youngest overseas participant who will have his drawing exhibited at an Asian Games.

Avidkhuu’s colourful drawing highlights traditional elements of Mongolia alongside Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games images.

It will be exhibited at the Aichi-Nagoya showpiece after he emerged among the top two in the boy’s art competition at the ‘Asian Games for All’ campaign in Mongolia on Monday, June 23.

“He is definitely the youngest participant who will have his drawing exhibited. It is a brilliant effort and his work is full of meaning,” said Jeans Zhou Jian, Olympic Council of Asia Director, Media and Broadcast.

Sporting a Fun Run tee shirt many sizes larger than him – the finalists were decided on the sidelines of the Fun Run at the Ulaanbaatar National Park – Avidkhuu haltingly explained, with the help of his mum, the various aspects of his drawing.

“Mongolia is a nomadic community at its heart. And I used this aspect mainly to highlight our culture. I painted a white bird to signify world peace. The mascots of the Asian Games are holding hands with me and my girlfriend – my best friend in school,” he shyly explains.

A total of 28 children aged between five and 13 years responded to the Mongolian National Olympic Committee’s call for entries to the Art Competition aspect of the Asian Games for All campaign run by the OCA and the Aichi-Nagoya Games organisers.

From this number, 10 finalists were picked, and their drawings displayed at the Fun Run on Monday. VIP guests were then asked to pick the final four – two boys and two girls – whose drawings will adorn the main venues at the Aichi-Nagoya Games next September.

The other boy to win was E. Enkhmunkh (12 years). The two girls whose drawings were picked are Z. Enkhlin and T. Chinbolor.
