Male, Maldives, June 23, 2025: The Olympic spirit in Asia was demonstrated by a recent incident involving the Maldives girls’ tennis team.
The team had been delayed in returning home to the Maldives due to the ongoing Middle East conflict and were visited by the Jordan Olympic Committee and Jordan Tennis Federation to show their support and raise their spirits.
“The visit was led by Secretary General Rana Al-Saeed, along with Zeid Shwayyat (Director of International Relations), Khaled Naffa’ (President, Jordan Tennis Federation) and Sohaib Ismail (Secretary General, Jordan Tennis Federation),” the Maldives Olympic Committee reported.
“We, at MOC, extend our sincere gratitude to the Jordan Olympic Committee and Jordan Tennis Federation. We wish the Maldivian team a safe arrival home.”
