Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, June 22, 2025: Summer is here and it’s steaming hot in the capital of Mongolia, but that will not prevent more than 250 people turning out for a 3.7 kilometre run on Monday, June 23, to mark the countdown for the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games.
The Olympic Council of Asia in collaboration with the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games Organising Committee and the Mongolian National Olympic Committee will hold its ‘Asian Games for All’ campaign in the world’s coldest capital, Ulaanbaatar on Monday.
“We deeply appreciate the OCA and Aichi Nagoya 2026 Organising Committee’s effort in bringing the spirit of the Asian Games closer to Mongolian youth, athletes and other stakeholders,” said Enkhbat Badar-Uugan, MONC Secretary General at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games Fun run press conference on Sunday, June 22.
The local media gathered at the MNOC headquarters in Ulaanbaatar listened to speeches from AINAGOC Deputy Director General Yasuhiro Inomata, OCA representatives Wissam Trkmani, Director NOC Relations and Development Programme, and Jeans Zhou Jian, Director Media and Broadcast.
Trkmani said: “The Asian Games Fun Run is special as it includes elements of sport, fun and friendship and it is an opportunity for the community to come together. This Asian Games for All campaign is a project aimed at engaging everyone in the spirit of the Asian Games and we are happy to be back in Mongolia.”
OCA Media Director Jeans added: “The Mongolia National Olympic Committee has been a great supporter of the OCA and the Asian Games. We have celebrated many past editions of the Asian Games here and we are glad to be back,”
Mongolia is the fifth leg in the promotional campaign for 2026 Aichi-Nagoya following Bhutan, Tajikistan, Brunei and Uzbekistan. There are three elements to this campaign – Fun Run, Asian Youth Reporter and an Art Competition. Mongolia is taking part in all three.
AINAGOC’s Inomata said: “Aichi-Nagoya and all of Japan are looking forward to the next Asian Games and welcoming all of you there. We are working hard to provide the best environment for athletes and officials and we assure you that everything will be ready.”
Meanwhile the top four – two boys and two girls – winners of the Art Competition will be announced on Monday, after the Fun Run is completed.
