Iraq NOC holds anti-doping workshop for sports associations

Baghdad, Iraq, June 19, 2025: The National Olympic Committee of Iraq held an anti-doping educational awareness workshop for national sports associations on Wednesday, June 17.

This workshop was part of efforts to spread the culture of clean sport and raise awareness of the dangers of using drugs and steroids among athletes.

Internationally qualified anti-doping official Haitham Kamel, who conducted the workshop, underlined the importance of athletes adhering to guidelines issued by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).

He stressed the vital role sports associations play in protecting their athletes from violations that could harm sporting careers.

Representatives from judo, hockey, cycling, golf, chess, billiards and baseball associations attended the one-day workshop.
