Hanoi, Vietnam, June 18, 2025: The Vietnam Olympic Committee held an Olympic Day Family Run to launch a drowning prevention project in Dak Nong province.
The event took place on the morning of Monday, June 16 at the campus of the Labor Culture House in collaboration with the Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
The ceremony was attended by provincial government leaders and department heads, Vietnam NOC representatives and more than 500 students in Gia Nghia city in the Central Highlands.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ms. Le Thi Truc Linh, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and deputy head of the organising committee, said: “Olympic Day is not only an occasion to celebrate sportsmanship and outstanding achievements but also an opportunity for every citizen to have a deeper understanding of the role of regular physical training in life.
“This drowning prevention and life-saving project is an example of this community action and protecting the safety of the people, especially of children and vulnerable groups in the rainy season.”
She also thanked the Vietnam Olympic Committee for choosing Dak Nong province to host this event, while calling for the strong participation of the government, teachers and parents in promoting the project in the community.
The programme closed with a family fun run involving all participants and showed the spirit of sportsmanship and determination to follow a healthy and safe lifestyle.
