Lausanne, Switzerland, June 18, 2025: The IOC, in collaboration with Worldwide Olympic Partner Deloitte, has announced the launch of the 2025 edition of the IOC Climate Action Awards.
The awards celebrate innovative, impactful and measurable actions in tackling climate change by National Olympic Committees (NOCs), International Sports Federations (IFs) and Olympic and Paralympic athletes.
The IOC Climate Action Awards 2025 invite innovative projects that actively reduce climate impact. Applicants are encouraged to present projects that deliver measurable environmental benefits, such as lowering overall carbon footprints, recycling sports equipment, reducing waste and material use, or advancing sustainable food initiatives.
Marie Sallois, the IOC’s Director of Corporate and Sustainable Development, said: “The IOC Climate Action Awards return in 2025 — not just to honour bold ideas but to ignite a movement. These awards are a call to action for those redefining what’s possible in sport and sustainability.
“We invite athletes, International Sports Federations and National Olympic Committees from across the world to share their efforts to address climate change and accelerate the sustainable transformation of sport.”
Applications for the IOC Climate Action Awards 2025 are open until June 27. The names of the winners will be revealed during the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026.
