Dubai, United Arab Emirates, June 17, 2025: The United Arab Emirates National Olympic Committee met with national sports federations last Friday, June 13 to discuss preparations for the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games.
Ahmed Al Tayib, Director of the Department of Technical and Sports Affairs of the UAE NOC, reviewed the various requirements for participation in the 4th Youth Olympic Games from October 31 to November 13 in Dakar, Senegal.
He covered the eligibility criteria and qualifying standards set by the IOC and the International Federations for each sport, as well as the cut-off point and age of participants among other issues.
Dakar YOG 2026 is expected to attract 2,700 athletes competing in 25 sports and 151 events.
The meeting was a sound opportunity for national sports federations to question the NOC on what their athletes would need to do to win a berth to Dakar.
