Ramallah, Palestine, June 11, 2025: The Palestine Olympic Committee has approved the formation of the Mixed Martial Arts Committee under the umbrella of the Palestinian Federation of Kickboxing.
The MMA Committee, which is headed by Dr. Nizar Taleb, also holds membership in the International, Asian and Arab Associations.
Samir Athamneh, President of the Palestinian Kickboxing Federation, wished the members of the Mixed Martial Arts Committee success in fulfilling their mission to support the sport's progress at home and abroad.
Samir also pointed out MMA is one of the fastest-growing sports in the world, attracting millions of fans worldwide.
The approval by the Palestine Olympic Committee was followed by another shot in the arm for kickboxing with Mohammed Ghazawi, representing the Palestine junior kickboxing team, claiming a bronze medal at the Kickboxing World Cup in Antalya, Turkey on Sunday, June 8.
