Uzbek sports leaders join 300 students in Asian Games Fun Run

Tashkent, Uzbekistan, June 4, 2025: Uzbekistan’s sports leadership got into the spirit of the "Asian Games for All" project as they participated in the Fun Run for Aichi-Nagoya 2026 in Tashkent on Wednesday, June 4.

Uzbekistan Sports Minister Adham Ikramov, OCA Vice President Otabek Umarov and Uzbekistan National Olympic Committee Secretary General Oybek Kasimov were among the large number of participants who turned up at Tashkent City Park.

The country’s top sports officials were joined by the OCA's Director of Media and Broadcast, Jeans Zhou Jian, the Director of Media and PR, Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games Organising Committee, Kanaizuka Fumihito, and an exuberant crowd of 300 local students from the Republican College of Olympic and Paralympic Reserve for the 1km run.

Also participating were delegates from 15 National Olympic Committees who were attending the ongoing V Regional Seminar on Digital Communications and Social Media.

Sports Minister Ikramov welcomed all participants, especially the students, encouraging them to practice sports so that the country could raise the bar at future Asian Games and, more importantly, help build a healthy and fit society.

The city park in the centre of Tashkent, the largest recreational park area in the capital complete with a 15 hectares artificial lake, was the perfect backdrop for the fourth overseas Fun Run this year, jointly organised by OCA, AINAGOC and the Uzbekistan NOC.

It follows Fun Runs held in Bhutan, Tajikistan and Brunei as the OCA and AINAGOC ramp up the profile of next year’s showpiece from September 19 to October 4.

As part of the Asian Games for All project, the Uzbekistan NOC also held an Arts Competition to promote the Asian Games. The top four winners in this contest will have their work displayed at the OCA Headquarters and the Main Press Centre during the Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya.
