Tashkent, Uzbekistan, June 2, 2025: A high-level meeting of senior officials from the Ministry of Sport and the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan was held to discuss country-wide competitions to unearth young sporting talent.
Sports Minister Adham Ikramov chaired the meeting which was also attended by officials of national sports federations and associations. Representatives from various departments and sports institutions from all regions also joined in online.
Minister Ikramov provided an analysis of the results of competitions held so far. The names of the regions and young athletes with the best results were announced. It was also noted that the track and field results in some regions were close to national standards.
In turn the NOC leadership expressed gratitude to regional departments for their active work in promoting these competitions. NOC Secretary General Oybek Kasimov pledged that Olympic standard equipment would be delivered to organise regional competitions.
Both the Ministry of Sport and NOC looked at ways to improve the efficiency of running the competitions and eliminate any problems that might arise.
