Tashkent, Uzbekistan, May 28, 2025: Uzbekistan’s sports leadership met with the President of World Triathlon, Antonio Fernandez Arimany on Monday, May 26.
Sports Minister Adham Ikramov, First Deputy Chairman of the Uzbekistan National Olympic Committee Otabek Umarov and Secretary General Oybek Kasimov were among the local delegation which met with Mr. Arimany.
The Uzbekistan sports officials thanked the World Triathlon President for his confidence in holding major events in the country and discussions centred on further cooperation.
A leg of the World Cup in triathlon and para-triathlon was held in Samarkand on May 24-25.
In turn, Mr. Arimany noted that Samarkand was an ideal venue to host a top-level competition, and also added that the competitive level of Uzbek triathletes was increasing.
