Kuwait City, Kuwait, May 25, 2025: As the countdown continues to the 3rd Asian Youth Games in Bahrain this October, the Olympic Council of Asia is urging its National Olympic Committees to focus on anti-doping education for athletes and coaches.
In a circular to all 45 NOCs, the OCA emphasizes the importance of upholding the values of fair play, integrity and clean sport.
“In this regard, we kindly urge all NOCs to foster close collaboration with their respective National Anti-Doping Organizations (NADOs) and/or Regional Anti-Doping Organizations (RADOs) to ensure that all athletes and coaches participating in the Games receive appropriate Anti-Doping education prior to the event,” says the OCA Deputy Director General, Vinod Kumar Tiwari.
“Educating young athletes and their support personnel is essential to preventing unintentional doping violations and instilling the principles of clean competition early in their sporting careers.”
To this end, the OCA encourages NOCs to work closely with their respective NADOs/RADOs to ensure the following:
*Completion of the Talented Athlete Competing at Major Events (TAME) Module by all participating athletes through the ADEL (Anti-Doping Education and Learning platform) online platform or the Talented Athlete module (TA).
*Completion of the Coaches of High-Performance Education Program (HPC) Module by all coaches through the same platform.
*Facilitate and monitor face-to-face education sessions conducted by NADOs. In support of this, the OCA will organize a dedicated webinar in early June 2025 to guide NADOs on the educational content and delivery methods. This will allow NADOs to adapt and customize the material to best suit their national contexts. The scheduled date of the webinar will be communicated.
“Your cooperation in this initiative is essential to protecting the health and future of our young athletes and preserving the integrity of the OCA Games,” adds Mr. Tiwari.
“We thank you for your continued commitment to clean sport and look forward to your active engagement in this important initiative.”
The 3rd AYG will be held in Bahrain from October 22-31, 2025.
