Passing the Torch On programme concludes in Hong Kong

Hong Kong, China, May 25, 2025: The Hong Kong Olympic Fan Club of the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China held a “Passing the Torch On” Fun Day and award presentation ceremony at Go Park Sai Sha on Saturday, May 24.

 

The event was funded by the Home and Youth Affairs Bureau’s Youth Positive Thinking Activities and marked the conclusion of the 18-month Passing the Torch On programme.

 

Mr. ‍Kenneth Fok, Vice-President of SF&OC and Chairman of the Fan Club, and Mr. Eric Chan, Commissioner for Youth, officiated at the awards ceremony. 

 

Programme Ambassadors Cheung Siu Lun (fencing), Vivian ‍Kong (fencing) and Lee ‍Chun Ho (karate) shared at the ceremony how they overcome challenges and encouraged the young people to broaden their horizons. 

 

Kenneth Fok said: “The success of the PTTO programme relies on the support of our athletes. They inspired the youths through their personal experiences, continuing the spirit of sports.

 

“Their effort in promoting positivity is the best manifestation of ‘passing the torch on’. We express sincere gratitude to HYAB for its support in nurturing young people with positive values through sports.

 

“Every stage of life comes with highs and lows. Participants of the PTTO programme discover their potential and learn the resilient spirit through interactions with our athletes and a series of sports-related activities, cultivating a strong mindset to cope with pressure and adversity. We hope this positive energy can inspire more young people.”
