Doha, Qatar, May 25, 2025: HE Jassim Rashid Al-Buenain, Secretary General of the Qatar Olympic Committee, welcomed IOC President Dr. Thomas Bach at Lusail Hall, the main venue of ITTF World Table Tennis Championships Finals Doha 2025, on Friday, May 23.
The QOC Secretary General, who is also the Vice President of the Organising Committee of the World Table Tennis Championships, accompanied the IOC President around the complex which is hosting the showpiece event.
The QOC has also invited the President of the National Olympic Committee of Iraq, Dr. Aqeel Muften, to witness the action on the final day on Sunday, May 25.
QOC President HH Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani extended the invitation to his Iraqi counterpart who arrived on Saturday night, May 24.
The men’s final will be contested between China’s Wang Chuqin and Brazilian Hugo Calderano. The women’s final will be an all-Chinese affair between defending champion Sun Yingsha and compatriot and former world champion Wang Manyu.
