Maldives NOC to partner with private sector to develop sport and athletes

Male, Maldives, May 22, 2025: The President of the Maldives Olympic Committee, Mohamed Abdul Sattar, met with senior officials from the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation and LFC x Visit Maldives to discuss collaboration aimed at strengthening the development of sport and athletes. 

 

Representing LFC x Visit Maldives was the Vice President of Partnerships Delivery, David Paul, and the Director of Global Partnership Sales, Alex Fraser.

 

Also present at the meeting was Maldives Olympic Committee Secretary General Thamooh Ahmed Saeed.

 

Discussions centred around identifying and developing strategic avenues to enhance the visibility of Maldivian athletes and create tangible opportunities for their advancement, both regionally and globally.

 

Key themes to the meeting included leveraging the partnership to facilitate greater access for elite Maldivian athletes to international platforms, with focus on the Olympic Games, Asian Games and Commonwealth Games.

 

The Maldives Olympic Committee expressed its commitment to working closely with MMPRC and LFC representatives to align shared values with youth empowerment, high performance sport and international representation.

 

This meeting reflects the growing importance of public-private partnerships in shaping the future of sport in the Maldives.
