Kuwait City, Kuwait, May 10, 2025: OCA President Raja Randhir Singh and Director General Husain Al Musallam believe the Olympic Movement in Asia is flourishing at all levels.
In a message to delegates attending the 45th OCA General Assembly in Kuwait on May 11-12, the two leaders have underscored the robust health of the continental body.
“I have been involved in the Olympic Movement in Asia for over six decades, as an athlete and official, and I can honestly say that the OCA has never been more active and more relevant than it is today,” the OCA President writes.
Raja Randhir outlined the diverse ecosystem created by the OCA which benefits athletes, coaches and officials as well as the 45 NOCs across Asia.
“From the world-class level of the Asian Games to youth development camps for our stars of tomorrow; from seminars on safeguarding and gender equity to regional forums outlining the Olympic Solidarity Programmes available to our NOCs; from daily updates by our management team to high-level conferences, the OCA is busily creating an Olympic ecosystem that will guarantee sustainability and good governance for decades to come at all levels of the movement,” Raja Randhir pointed out.
Captain Husain writes that the future of the Asian Games is secure, and praises the NOCs for placing their trust and confidence in the OCA.
“It fills me with pride that our flagship event, the Asian Games, is secured for the next three editions: Aichi-Nagoya, Japan in 2026, Doha in 2030 and Riyadh in 2034. The next available date is 2038 – 13 years from now,” Captain Husain said.
He added: “We believe this commitment from our National Olympic Committees demonstrates the confidence and the trust in the OCA to put on a world-class sports gala and to provide the best conditions for our athletes and administrators.
"Our short-term and long-term future is secure, and around this framework of the Asian Games we can build a solid support system for the whole Olympic Movement in Asia on an annual basis.”
IOC President Thomas Bach and IOC President-Elect Kirsty Coventry will be among the notable personalities attending the 45th OCA General Assembly to be held at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel.
