Manila, Philippines, May 7, 2025: The Philippine Olympic Committee has congratulated Mikee Cojuangco-Jaworski on her prestigious new appointment within the Olympic Movement.

Earlier this week, the International Olympic Committee announced that Mikee had been appointed Chair of the IOC Coordination Commission for the 2032 Olympic Games in Brisbane, Australia.

The appointment came at the personal behest of IOC President-elect Kirsty Coventry, who held that role before her election as new IOC President on March 20. Coventry will succeed Thomas Bach as IOC President on June 23.

“We extend our warmest congratulations to IOC Representative Mikee Cojuangco-Jaworski on her appointment to the International Olympic Committee’s Coordination Commission for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games,” the POC said in a Facebook post.

“An Asian Games equestrian champion (Busan 2002) and a member of the IOC since 2013 (IOC Executive Board member since 2020), Mikee's extensive experience across numerous IOC commissions, including Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024, underscores her invaluable contributions to the Olympic Movement.

“This latest honor, under the leadership of Kirsty Coventry, further solidifies her role in shaping the future of the Games.”

The POC ended the post with a proud message: “Mabuhay ka (long live), Mikee Cojuangco-Jaworski!”

As IOC Coordination Commission Chair, Mikee, 51, will oversee all the plans and preparations for the 2032 Olympic Games.
