Tehran, Iran, May 7, 2025: The 50th Executive Board Meeting of the National Olympic Committee of the Islamic Republic of Iran was held on Tuesday, May 6 under the auspices of NOC President Mahmoud Khosravi Vafa.
Among the resolutions passed at the meeting was the approval of the budget to assist national sports federations to prepare athletes for upcoming international multi-sports games including the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games.
Iran NOC Secretary General Dr. Mahdi Alinejad, briefing media, said: “The first resolution today was the approval of a budget to assist federations, which was divided and distributed based on the NOC’s new indicators.
“We included indicators, some of which were related to medal winning in previous editions and some were related to the process of holding camps etc. Based on these, we will have an independent memorandum of understanding with the federations,” Dr. Alinejad explained.
He added: “We will operationally announce what budget allocated to each federation is related to, especially since we have three events this year, and we will also have to look at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games and the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics.
“Another issue that was raised was the creation of a media platform for the NOC which was presented by some colleagues. The general outline was approved, and the details will be discussed at the next meeting when a final decision will be made.”
