Astana, Kazakhstan, May 1, 2025: The Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee of Kazakhstan, Alimzhan Akayev, has been appointed as a member of the Islamic Solidarity Games Commission under the Islamic Solidarity Sports Association.
The decision was made at the 42nd meeting of the ISSA Executive Council and officially approved by the President of the organisation, HRH Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal.
The Islamic Solidarity Games Commission is the key body responsible for coordinating and organising one of the largest multi-sports events in the Islamic world. In 2025, the Islamic Solidarity Games will be held in Riyadh, with athletes from more than 50 countries participating.
The appointment is recognition of Kazakhstan’s growing role in promoting Olympic values within the Islamic sports community and highlights the country’s commitment to actively participate in global sports initiatives.
