Kuwait City, Kuwait, April 24, 2025: A Chinese delegation from the People’s Government of Guangdong Province, led by Deputy Governor Liu Hongbin, visited the OCA HQ on Thursday and praised the efforts of the OCA in promoting and developing sport across the continent.
The meeting with OCA management and staff took place as Guangdong, along with Hong Kong and Macao, prepares to stage China’s 15th National Games from November 9-21, 2025.
Deputy Governor Liu said: “Thanks to the efforts of the OCA, more and more people are knowing more kind of sports, participating in sports and enjoying sports.
“That is also what we aim to achieve through the organisation of the 15th National Games - that is, to enable more people to know sports, love sports and participate in sports.
“I hope that, through our efforts, we will turn Guangdong from a big sports province into a strong sports province.”
Deputy Governor Liu added: “We seek the precious guidance and support from the OCA, not only in terms of the organisation of events such as the 15th National Games but also how we can do better in spreading the sports culture and developing sports-related industries.”
The OCA delegation was led by Deputy Director General Vinod Kumar Tiwari, who praised the organisational expertise of China in the Olympic Movement, from the Olympic Games, Olympic Winter Games, Asian Games, Asian Winter Games and other major international events.
Liu Hongbing was accompanied by Huang Mingzhong, General Office, People’s Government of Guangdong Province, Deputy Secretary-General; Lin Ying, Guangdong Provincial Sports Administration, Deputy Director; and officials Li Linwei, Liu Yazhuo and Huang Kun.
