Hong Kong, China, April 24, 2025: The 68th Festival of Sport organised by the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China is underway with the theme “Let’s get moving together and enjoy sports”.
The festival, which is supported by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, will run from April to August and showcase a variety of sports, encourage a healthy lifestyle and promote family bonding.
The 68th Festival of Sport kicked off with a two-day carnival on April 12-13 featuring over 10 sports demonstrations, including Olympic and emerging sports.
Beyond sports trials, the carnival also hosts the 15th National Games promo booth to raise public awareness of the event to be held in the Greater Bay Area later this year.
In his opening remarks, SF&OC President Timothy Fok said: "This year marks the historic co-hosting of the National Games by Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao.
“This festival helps build momentum for the National Games in November. We hope the public will stay tuned for the Games and rally behind our athletes as they prepare for this significant competition."
From April to August, SF&OC and affiliated National Sports Associations will organise over 50 sports activities across different districts in Hong Kong. These include competitions, community fun days and interactive sessions tailored to different age groups.
The four enhanced events are the Sport for All Fun Day on April 27, Bodybuilding - Family Sports Game 2025 on May 10-11, Hong Kong Shuttlecock Fun Day on May 25 and Flying Disc Fun Day on June 14.
Following the opening ceremony, the presentation ceremony of SF&OC Incentive Awards & Junior Incentive Awards 2024 was held. Over HK$2.5 million was granted to NSAs in recognition of their contributions to the development of sports over the past year.
