Jordan NOC holds Sports Day in Irbid Governorate

Amman, Jordan, April 20, 2025: The Jordan Olympic Committee successfully concluded its National Sports Day event at King Abdullah II Gardens in Irbid Governorate on Saturday, April 19.

 

The event began with a march past of athletes from various national sports federations and a bicycle parade before exhibition competitions in various sports were staged in front of a large audience.

 

The Sports Day comes under the ambit of the National Programme for the Development of Community Sports which aims at promoting sport across the country.

 

JOC Secretary General Rana Al-Saeed stressed that the NOC was keen to develop community sports, encourage individuals to take up sport and use national sporting icons to promote sports.

 

Al-Saeed said: “We believe that sports are a lifestyle that contributes to building a healthy and active society. Through these events, we aim to reach every Jordanian home and instil a culture of sports in society.

 

“We look forward to hosting the Sports Day event in various governorates across the Kingdom in the coming period. We thank everyone who contributes to the success of our events and always strives for the best that serves Jordan sport.”
