Asian Games Fun Run makes headline news in Brunei

Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam, April 16, 2025: The Olympic Council of Asia visit to Brunei Darussalam made front and back-page headlines in the Borneo Bulletin on Wednesday, April 16.

The Borneo Bulletin sports section was dominated by a photo from the Asian Games Fun Run for Aichi-Nagoya 2026, held at the Empire Brunei on the afternoon of Tuesday, April 15. 

The photo shows His Royal Highness Prince Sufri Bolkiah, President of the Brunei Darussalam National Olympic Council and OCA Executive Board honorary member, taking part in the fun run alongside IOC Executive Board member HRH Prince Feisal Al Hussein, President of the Jordan Olympic Committee.

The headline reads “Royalty leads fun run” and describes how HRH Prince Sufri joined 500 participants in the fun run. There is also a report, accompanied by four pictures from the fun run, in the local sports section inside.

The front page of the Borneo Bulletin carries the headline “Royal audience” above a photo of HRH Prince Feisal Al Hussein, who is also Chair of the OCA Peace Through Sport Committee, being welcomed by His Majesty Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah at Istana Nurul Iman on Tuesday. HRH Prince Sufri Bolkiah is also present.

The two-day OCA Gender Equity Seminar, held in Brunei on April 14-15 with the theme “Watch Her Shine”, is reported in the national news section, accompanied by three photos.
