Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam, April 14, 2025: The Asian Games Fun Run series will continue in Brunei Darussalam on Tuesday, April 15 in order to promote the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan in 2026.
Around 400 children will take part in the latest leg of the fun run, which will take place at the Empire Brunei after the conclusion of the two-day OCA Gender Equity Seminar. The 400 locals will be joined by 100 delegates of the seminar.
The OCA Director of Media and Broadcasting, Mr. Jeans Zhou Jian, said the Asian Games Fun Run in Brunei Darussalam would add value and legacy to the series.
“We have held the Asian Games Fun Run in Brunei before and the OCA has always been impressed with the excited participation of the local people,” he said.
“The atmosphere has always been excellent – fun and friendly – and the backdrop to the fun run in Brunei is spectacular and scenic. We look forward to having another successful Asian Games Fun Run in Brunei on Tuesday afternoon.
“The OCA would like to thank the Brunei Darussalam National Olympic Council for all their assistance in organising the fun run, and also the representatives of the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games Organising Committee for supporting this event.”
The route covers a distance of 3.2 km, starting and finishing at the Indera Samudera Grand Hall in the tropical gardens of the Empire hotel and resort on the coast of the South China Sea. The run will take participants past Jerudong Beach and the Empire Brunei golf course.
There will be seven different categories according to gender and age: men’s open, women’s open, boys aged 12 and under, girls aged 12 and under, people with a disability, men’s veteran and women’s veteran.
Proceedings will begin at 4pm with the arrival of the fun run organising committee, the participants at 4.15pm and guests at 4.30pm, culminating with the arrival of His Royal Highness Prince Sufri Bolkiah, President of Brunei Darussalam National Olympic Council and honorary member of the OCA Executive Board.
HRH Prince Sufri will signal the start of the fun run at 5.15pm, and 30 minutes later there will be a presentation of certificates and medals.
