Kathmandu, Nepal, April 10, 2025: The Nepal Olympic Committee held a special Lighting Programme at the iconic Swoyambhu Temple on Sunday, April 6 to mark the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace.
The President of the Nepal Olympic Committee, Jeevan Ram Shrestha, and other senior officials of the NOC took part in the celebration at the Swoyambhu Temple, an ancient religious complex atop a hill in the Kathmandu Valley, west of the capital.
The NOC posted on social media: “Together, we illuminated the path towards unity, solidarity and hope through the universal language of sport.”
NOC officials and the public lit candles at the temple complex, including tea candles placed in the shape of the Olympic rings.
