Hong Kong, China, April 9, 2025: The President of the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China, Mr. Timothy Fok, led a delegation of SF&OC officers on a two-day visit to Beijing.
The delegation called on the Hong Kong and Macao Work Office of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and on the Chinese Olympic Committee.
They were received by Mr. Xia Baolong, Director of the Hong Kong and Macao Work Office of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council, and Executive Deputy Director, Mr. Zhou Ji.
The delegation also met with Mr. Gao Zhidan, President of COC and Director of the General Administration of Sport of China, as well as other senior officials.
Summing up the visit, SF&OC President Timothy Fok said: “The Hong Kong sports industry will continue to fully harness the institutional strengths of 'one country, two systems' and make good use of Hong Kong's position to connect with both the mainland and the world in favour of a more proactive integration into the national development.
“With the opening of the Kai Tak Sports Park, Hong Kong is set to welcome more mega sports events. The co-hosting of the upcoming 15th National Games by Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao will further promote the synergistic development among cities in the Greater Bay Area.”
Mr. Fok continued: "As Hong Kong will play host to the 2026 General Assembly of ANOC, it will further strengthen Hong Kong's position as a centre for major international sports events. SF&OC is pressing ahead at full steam for organising the event.
“The entire sports industry strives to unite our community through sports, while showcasing to the world Hong Kong's soft power and contributing to the national economic development."
