Thimphu, Bhutan, April 2, 2025: Four lucky Bhutanese school kids will have their paintings exhibited at the Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, next year.
Two boys and two girls were picked from more than 350 school children from four schools who took part in the Bhutan leg of the ‘Asian Games for All’ art competition, Aichi-Nagoya 2026.
The boys are Ugyen Drodyel Jamtsho, 11 years, and Ugyen Rigphel Dorji, 12, while the two girls are Shelkar Zang Monamgyal, 12, and Rishikara Dargee, also 12 years.
“The theme of the art competition was the Asian Games for All,” revealed Victor Gurung, BOC Media and Technical consultant. “It was only open to children 13 years or younger and we had an outstanding response.”
Jeans Zhou Jian, OCA Director of Media and Broadcast, revealed the list of winners, and said the winning paintings would be showcased at the OCA Headquarters Hotel and at the Main Press Centre during the Asian Games in Aichi Nagoya.
The OCA is expected to carry out the ‘Asian Games for All’ events – Fun Run, Asian Youth Reporter project and Art competition - across 30 National Olympic Committees in the region.
