SF&OC’s ‘Olympic Voice of Hong Kong’ reflects on successful Asian Winter Games

Hong Kong, China, March 31, 2025: The Sports Federation and Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China has produced the 29th edition of “Olympic Voice of Hong Kong” for March 2025.

The 24-page magazine is packed with news and colorful action photos and focuses mainly on the participation of Hong Kong, China in the OCA’s 9th Asian Winter Games in Harbin, China from February 7-14.

The President of the SF&OC, Timothy Fok, recalls the magical moments in Harbin and looks ahead to a busy year in his President’s Message.

“Hong Kong went full force to the Asian Winter Games in Harbin last month with a delegation of more than a hundred,” writes Mr. Fok, who is First Vice President of the OCA and IOC Honorary Member.

“This level of participation is unprecedented for us in the annals of winter sports. We were relatively late in joining, given that ours is a subtropical city.

“However, our athletes are now flocking to participate in sports on ice and in the snow as our young people have acquired the skills and passion for what was once considered exotic and inaccessible. Because of their exposure to these pursuits overseas and in Mainland China, an entire new sphere of competition has opened up for Hong Kong athletes.”

Mr. Fok added: “Harbin, renowned for its ice festival, provided a perfect stage for this grand event held under the auspices of the Olympic Council of Asia. The Hong Kong, China Delegation finished the Asian Winter Games with excellent results by achieving a number of breakthroughs, kicking off a good start for 2025.”

In a busy year ahead, Hong Kong, China will compete in The World Games in Chengdu, China in August; the 3rd Asian Youth Games in Bahrain in October; and the 15th National Games of China in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao in November.

“We will continue to support our athletes to shine on the world stage,” said Mr. Fok.

Other content includes the Cathay Hong Kong Sports Stars Awards and the 68th Festival of Sport.
