Sheikh Mansoor confirmed as President of UAE NOC

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, March 27, 2025: HH Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum was elected as the President of the United Arab Emirates National Olympic Committee for the term of 2024-2028.

 

The election took place during the General Assembly of the UAE NOC on Wednesday, March 26. 

 

Following the announcement of the election, Sheikh Mansoor chaired the meeting which was attended by HE Dr. Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of Sports, Vice President of the NOC and Chairman of the Executive Board, HE Faris Mohammed Al Mutawa, NOC Secretary General, as well as members of the General Assembly and Executive Board.

 

Sheikh Mansoor paid tribute to his predecessor, HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, pointing out that his 16-year presidency of the NOC had a profound impact on the diverse achievements of the Olympic Movement in the Emirates.

 

Sheikh Mansoor also praised the remarkable efforts of all previous NOC presidents since its establishment in 1979, noting that their efforts had laid a strong foundation, enabling continuous growth and development.

 

He said the UAE had established several milestones, including its historic first Olympic gold medal won by Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Hasher Al Maktoum in shooting at the 2004 Athens Olympics.

 

Sheikh Mansoor stressed that sustaining the success of the Olympic Movement required the collective effort of all stakeholders, including sports federations, to ensure that athletes received the support and environment needed to excel.

 

At the conclusion of the meeting, Sheikh Mansoor witnessed the signing of an agreement to host the headquarters of the national sports federations at the new NOC premises in Dubai. The new venue will host 21 federations.
