Muscat, Oman, March 25, 2025: The Athletes Committee of the Oman Olympic Committee elected six new members for the term of 2024-2028 at its General Assembly in Muscat last weekend.
In his welcome address to members, the Chair of the Oman Athletes Committee, Asaad Mubarak Al-Hasni, underlined the role of the body which was to represent Omani athletes and uphold their rights.
“Today, we stand at the threshold of a new phase of work and development. I wish the new committee all the best in facing upcoming challenges. We all recognise the pressing issues that require urgent attention, such as protecting athletes’ rights and ensuring a safe sports environment,” Al-Hasni said.
He added priorities also included the fight against doping, health and safety of athletes, and ensuring that sports careers were free of risks that could impact their lives and future.
The six new members elected to the Oman Athletes Committee were: Salih Nasser Al-Saadi, Sultan Hamoud Al-Touqi, Buthaina Eid Al-Yayubi, Mohammed Naseeb Al-Habsi, Wafa Saif Al-Samariya and Khalifa Hamad Al-Jabri.
Additionally the General Assembly elected Fatima Talib Al-Nabhani and Salih Nasser Al-Saadi as athlete representatives in the Oman Olympic Committee General Assembly for the 2024-28 electoral cycle.
In addition, Khalifa Hamad Al-Jabri was appointed as OOC Board Member representing the athletes.
