Amman, Jordan, March 19, 2025: The Secretary General of the Jordan Olympic Committee, Rana Al-Saeed, briefed the Senate Committee on Culture, Youth and Sports, headed by Senator Dr. Haifa Al-Najjar, on the National Sports Strategy and the NOC’s plans to develop sports in the Kingdom.
Addressing the Senate Committee on Tuesday, March 18, Ms. Al-Saeed pointed out that under the guidance of HRH Prince Faisal bin Al Hussein, JOC President, the NOC aimed for sustainable development in sports embodied by the National Sports Strategy.
She emphasised that the strategy focused on supporting athletes, developing the sports sector and enhancing Jordan’s presence on the international sporting stage.
Al-Saeed reviewed the programmes offered by the NOC, such as Community Sports Programme and the Olympic Preparation Programme, and the implementation of projects aimed at promoting the sports culture, volunteering and Olympic values among the people.
For her part, Senator Al-Najjar said the Senate Committee, through its oversight and legislative role, was concerned with examining the challenges facing the sports sector and working closely to find solutions.
She recognised the key role the NOC is playing in developing sports in the country and highlighted the vital role sports plays in enhancing the mental and physical health of Jordanians.
Senator Al-Najjar also stressed the importance of improving sports facilities and supporting sports federations.
The Senate Committee praised the Jordan Olympic Committee and its achievements, and underlined the importance of supporting the sports sector in the Kingdom.
