Tashkent, Uzbekistan, March 19, 2025: The National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan participated in a programme on Tuesday, March 18, to honour sports veterans in the country ahead of the national holiday of Navruz.
The Council of Sports Veterans of Uzbekistan initiated a programme to check on the health of sports veterans in the country before the traditional Navruz New Year holiday – signifying the beginning of spring and re-birth.
On the eve of the holiday, the Council of Sports Veterans honoured the old-time sporting greats who had dedicated their lives to the development of Uzbek sports by giving gifts from the NOC, the Ministry of Sports and sponsors.
In turn, the veterans expressed their gratitude for such care and being remembered by the state and NOC.
