Tehran, Iran, March 18, 2025: The National Olympic Committee of the Islamic Republic of Iran has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Iran Armed Forces General Headquarters which will promote closer sporting ties between both parties.
President Mahmoud Khosravi Vafa and Secretary General Dr. Mahdi Alinejad represented the Iran NOC while Brigadier General Jamshid Foladi, Head of the Sports and Physical Department of the Armed Forces General Headquarters, represented the Forces.
NOC President Khosravi Vafa said: “There has always been good cooperation between the NOC and the Sports and Physical Department of the Armed Forces General Headquarters but this time, with the MOU, the cooperation will be closer.”
NOC Secretary General Dr. Alinejad added: “The two organisations can cooperate in many areas, especially in the area of sports diplomacy and training courses. We are ready for any kind of cooperation.”
Brigadier General Foladi stated: “With the help of the National Olympic Committee, we will prepare the armed forces teams in the best way for the CISM Military World Summer Games in 2027 and other occasions.”
