Kathmandu, Nepal, March 17, 2025: Nepal Olympic Committee is inviting the public to join the 3rd Lumbini International Peace Marathon 2025.
The event will be held on Saturday, March 22 at Lumbini Peace Garden and there will be four categories: marathon (men), half marathon (women), 5km public run (men and women) and 5km school run (boys and girls).
The Lumbini International Peace Marathon is being held as part of the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace.
The Nepal Olympic Committee is a co-host along with the Chinese Embassy in Nepal and the Nepal Tourism Board.
“Mark your calendars for March 22nd, 2025, and lace up your running shoes,” the organisers said in a social media post.
“Whether you’re a seasoned athlete or a casual runner, this marathon is your chance to stride for peace in the sacred birthplace of Lord Buddha.
“Race, run or walk while supporting a global message of harmony and unity.”
Top performers in all categories will be rewarded with cash prizes.
